They're making an OS that's essentially compatible with the same architecture that Android OS can be. They're thinking long term, they're thinking WebOS could be the core of things, and they really don't want to worry about getting it ingratiated into the hardware.Īnd they're doing something beautiful. They took a look at Microsoft, who don't make hardware. They took a look at Google, who doesn't actually make android devices (yes, I know they make like one or two, but it's really just a blip in the Android radar), they just make Android. WebOS is interesting, and HP's announcement even moreso.
